Ok, This is just crazy! I took a firearms training course for beginners A MONTH AGO……and I still haven't posted a comment like I said I would. I've been putting it off, trying to figure out how to sound smart, like my “I don't know jack shit about guns” AND the fact I'm a chic won't show through my comments or something totally rational like that! Haha But, one of the best parts about this course, at least for me, was that shortly after we started was the last time I remember thinking about being a girl, in a class of only 5…………….other girls ……….!!!hahaha. I think we ranged from great gramma to probably 25ish with experience levels from “more than some” to “not a clue”. Seriously, I wouldn't have blamed Russell or Hall even a little for even the slightest hint of not wanting to spent your day off trying to instruct a bunch of newb girls. I got (we all did) a basic understanding and knowledge on a variety of training topics that was backed up by hands on live fire practice. It certainly wasn't any sort of boot camp mentality, nor did they hold my hand or behave overly cautious or “respectful” in that awkward extreme. As well, we didn't have to listen to 20 minutes of “ listen to me tell you how cool I am” and then listen to him tell you also, for another 10……..while we flex…….and tell lame jokes. All of these negative possibilities really held me back from getting the most out of it right from the beginning. So, that is why I write all this. I encourage women to take advantage of this course, these two unpretentious guys , all of their experience and knowledge, and skip right to the learning and having fun. By the time I got home I realized what a really great experience I had and surprised at how much I learned! I will be taking more training courses from Ryan Russell and Dave Hall and looking forward to it! Thanks guys!
